When a sourcing professional undertakes a sourcing assignment for any commodity or service, there is a tendency to just focus on the basic price instead of considering all the associated costs of the product/service. In reality, the associated costs are at times, higher than the basic cost. This aspect is extremely critical, especially for sourcing IT hardware, as lack of awareness could lead to potential loss of valuable resources.
