About the role

Zillow 2.0 is here, and we are seeking a motivating top performer to join our Sourcing team within the Finance organization. Collaborates with the Director, Sourcing, this person will lead sourcing efforts for indirect categories such as Professional Services, Marketing, Operations, and others as needed. The opportunity to drive strategy and implement meaningful sourcing solutions while building relationships across the whole organization will be a rewarding challenge for the right candidate! In this role you will:

  • Develop category strategies
  • Execute on sourcing events (RFX)
  • Negotiate high-visibility contracts
  • Collaborate with leaders across various disciplines 
  • Take ownership of large projects
  • Lead complex cost containment initiatives
  • Pitch new ideas and collaborate with the Director, Sourcing
  • Mentor and train other Sourcing team members

About the team

The Sourcing team is focused on identifying and driving value in the total cost equation among our supplier base. This is pure sourcing at its best. Our team collaborates with other Procurement functions like Vendor Management, Procurement Operations, Contracts Management, and Travel & Expense to add value over the entirety of Zillow’s source-to-pay cycle. The Sourcing team is a lean team by design and operates with efficiency and prioritizes work together. Who you are

  • Experienced in category management and delivery on sourcing strategy
  • Proactive in finding value-add opportunities for internal partners
  • Proficient in data analysis and possess strong finance acuity; can sift through spend data to ID digestible fact-based stories 
  • Compelling presentation skills, with the ability to influence with impact to a broad spectrum of communication and leadership styles
  • Comfortable meeting with partners and building and maintaining productive relationships
  • Encompasses a “Better Together” attitude and approach to mentoring and coaching of other team members
  • Experienced among various indirect categories (eg. professional services, marketing, facilities, technology) 
  • Strong negotiator who is consistently prepared with logical frameworks and the art of persuasion while utilizing the supply, demand, and process levers to optimize total cost of ownership 
  • Effective communicator who leads discovery sessions to accurately capture requirements 
  • Enjoys developing sourcing plans that delivers results aligned with the businesses needs
  • Appreciates how connecting dots across the organizational matrix leads to ensuring the correct parties that are impacted in a supplier decision are included upstream
  • Someone that can work autonomously but knows the power of collaboration
  • Comfortable using applications like Scout, Workday, Suplari, Office, Google Suite 
  • 8+ years of sourcing, negotiating, and category management experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, or similar; advanced degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
