Our sourcing organization has partnered with HR to create a job tree for our department. We have run into a challenge getting valid benchmarking information on category managers and strategic sourcing specialists. We are currently using Willis Towers Watson and Mercer as the benchmarking services but found the closest positions to category managers and strategic sourcing specialists are buyers. This led to a significant variance in the salary benchmarking variance we received.
