Risk Management Insight > what do you do when sales wants to use your vendor list to prospect?

Someone in our sales function had the idea to use our vendor list as a sales prospecting list.

Both our Legal and Sourcing organizations have cautioned this is not a good idea for several reasons.

Does anyone in the SIG community know of any articles or materials that provide the Sourcing viewpoint on this? Or can your share your own advice and experiences?

As you can imagine, once a vendor also becomes a key customer, it can get messy.
