We are a procurement department that handles over 2,500 indirect spend contracts a year within a large corporation. We are seeking to learn more on how other procurement departments interact with their Legal department when reviewing contracts and if any of the contract reviews are outsourced.
1. How is the Legal Team that supports your procurement organization structured? (Do Attorneys report up to Legal or Procurement? When does legal get involved in negotiations?)
2. How do you decide which contracts are sent to legal (Contract value? Risk?)
3. How, if at all, is outside counsel utilized? (Spend? Subject Matter? Risk? Etc.)
