Boards are paranoid about the impact of automation and AI, but they struggle to turn it into an actionable mandate. Part of that is due to the pace of change which is nothing short of astounding. Many engagements take just 2 to 3 months from prototype to project. At the same time buyers are wary of the way those innovations are being sold. Rather than buying change agents like RPA, AI or Blockchain off the shelf, they want to procure an outcome. Against this background, this session discusses the impact of those change agents on service delivery and how the industry is moving toward a data-centric operating model.
Tom Reuner is Senior Vice President, Intelligent Automation and IT Services at HfS. Tom is responsible for driving the HfS research agenda for Intelligent Automation and IT Services. Automation cuts across the whole gamut ranging from RPA to Autonomics to Cognitive Computing and Artificial Intelligence. This includes increasingly the intersections of unstructured data, analytics, and Cognitive Automation while mobilizing the HfS analysts to research Intelligent Automation dynamics across specific industries and business functions. Furthermore, he is supporting HfS’ push to disrupt IT Services research by focusing on application services and testing. A central theme for all his research is the increasing links between technological evolution and evolution in the delivery of business processes.
Tom’s deep understanding of the dynamics of this market comes from having held senior positions with Gartner, Ovum and KPMG Consulting in the UK and with IDC in Germany where his responsibilities ranged from research and consulting to business development. He has always been involved in advising clients on the formulation of strategies, guiding them through methodologies and analytical data and working with clients to develop impactful and actionable insights. Tom is frequently quoted in the leading business and national press, has appeared on TV, and is a regular presenter at conferences.
Tom has a PhD in History from the University of Göttingen in Germany.
He lives in London with his wife, and in his spare time he tries to improve his culinary skills to distract him from the straining experience of being a Spurs supporter.

Rosalyn lives in South West London, UK and has been with the John Lewis Partnership since 2014. The John Lewis Partnership is a 90,000 strong, employee-owned UK retailer spanning 400 branches of John Lewis and Waitrose, together with a strong online retail presence. During 2017, Rosalyn assumed the role of CPO encompassing a broad range of indirect spend from Technology to Property and Distribution. Rosalyn also manages Procurement Operations and Third Party Governance & Compliance with a strong emphasis on the Partnership's Corporate Social Responsibility agenda.
Rosalyn has a long and varied career in procurement and supplier management, spanning a range of industries including Retail, Construction, Defence and Financial Services. Prior to undertaking the CPO role in John Lewis Partnership, Rosalyn has had a particular interest and focus on technology sourcing and strategic supplier management. During this time Rosalyn has developed and built strategic supplier management programmes and value-led, high capability sourcing teams. More recently, a converging of these interests has led to increased focus on the world of AI and it’s impact on sourcing, procurement operations and the supply base itself.
In here spare time she is a fund raiser for Save the Children and enjoys spending time with her two small children, which is infinitely more challenging than managing a team of dedicated procurement professionals.

Over the course of his career, Laurence has worked with customers as a trusted advisor and strategic consultant on workforce strategies, and provided consultative services to notable organisations; some of which include PWC, McKinsey & Co, Bain Capital, HgCapital and the Carlyle Group. Currently serving as an AGS sales director, Laurence leads complex and strategic multi-country bids from conception through implementation—incorporating consultative and project-management techniques to best align with our client’s business objectives.
Prior to AGS, Laurence worked to foster his staffing industry career via various roles at competing organizations, including serving as group sales director at Adecco and regional operations manager for Manpower UK. Furthermore, he has a proven track record in delivering ground-breaking workforce solutions, worldwide relationship management, and multi-million pound international strategic sales development. He has appeared as a subject matter expert for BBC Television and BBC radio, as has been featured in magazine publications and national newspapers, including The Times, The Sunday Times, and The Mail and The Mirror.
