Shared Services is responsible for managing the onboarding and ongoing management associated with conducting business with third-party vendors and defining a consistent program for First Republic’s vendor relationships. In the process, we fulfill the applicable negotiations to meet legal, information security, regulatory, and financial requirements on behalf of the organization. We also work with business units to secure, risk assess and oversee all vendor services.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director, Strategic Sourcing, will lead the end-to-end sourcing activities, including collaborating with internal stakeholders, data analysis, market research, negotiation strategy development, executing sourcing events, proposal analysis, vendor license/service scope reviews, and the creation of a category plan, obtaining approval, and presenting the results and customizing for approval from the business owners.  Acts as the relationship owner between the assigned business areas and the Shared Services department.
Coordinates, supports and partners with Vendor Management team through the sourcing process, as well as in the execution of contracts, to ensure business requirements and negotiated terms are finalized in the contracting and on-boarding processes. Supports the business and Vendor Management in the on-going review of Vendor performance as part of managing the category for the Bank.
What you’ll do as a Director, Strategic Sourcing:
- Responsible for development, business owner review/approval of, and execution of the Category Plan for assigned Categories.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the assigned business units.
- Directly manages strategic sourcing events including Requests for Information, Quotes, Proposals and Reverse Auctions.
- Oversees and provide quality control for direct reports events to ensure they meet Bank standards as well as delivering on the category plan approved by Shared Services management and business leadership.
- Provide subject matter expertise for the Bank on industry trends.
- Provide support, develops, and documents business processes in support of functions managed in this role.


You could be a great fit if you have:
- In-depth knowledge of Sourcing, Procurement, and direct experience managing a Category for a financial institution.
- Systems experience using applications such as Coupa, Ariba, Scout, or other sourcing (RFx, Request for Information, Quote, Proposal and Reverse Auctions).
- 7+ years of in-depth strategic and/or operational procurement experience with extensive knowledge of category management and advanced strategic sourcing, ideally with subject matter expertise in technology.
Job Demands:
- Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient.
- Must be able to travel both domestically and potential international travel.
- Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone and in person at all levels of the organization.
