Will VUCA – Volatility, Uncertainly, Complexity and Ambiguity be a challenge for companies in 2021 as it was in 2020? Presented by GEP

Monday, November 9, 2020 - 14:00

VUCA is an acronym that originated at the U.S. Army War College to describe the perceived state of the world at the end of the Cold War — volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Today, VUCA is often used in a business context and seems to perfectly encapsulate the challenges facing companies today. In June, along with SIG, GEP leaders Biju Mohan, Vice President, Consulting and Mike Jette, Vice President, Consulting discussed how COVID-19, an economic downturn, political complexity, environmental concerns, and ever-evolving digital technology are currently affecting business leaders.

In this follow up session, they will take another look this topic as it’s clear that VUCA will be a challenge for companies in 2021. For procurement and supply chain particularly, companies that invested in digital transformation were better prepared to cope with upheavals, expected and unexpected. What are the best technology strategies for procurement and supply chain leaders to bring to bear against VUCA as we look to the new year? What kinds of process and technology enhancements will provide the best ROI and enable continued enterprise growth amid all the turbulence?

Key Discussion Points:

-          Current business dynamics and their impact on your goals and objectives

-          The key functional areas that require an immediate shift in tech strategy

-          The main VUCA-driven imperatives for digital transformation in procurement and supply chain

-          The newest intelligent technologies for creating resilience and agility, now and tomorrow

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from your peers as you determine the best course through a consistently changing business landscape.
