This Month at SIG – September 2019

What's happening in September at SIG.

The Labor Day holiday in the U.S. marks the official end of summer. Playing catch-up and circling back with everyone you got an out-of-office email from is a laborious task in the quest to achieve “inbox zero.” Hopefully you had the opportunity to hit the refresh button yourself this summer so you can approach your task list (and your goal list) with renewed energy.

This month, SIG has some exciting networking opportunities so you can benchmark with your peers and find solutions to your biggest challenges, and you have one last opportunity to upskill your team before tuition increases for our certification programs. Here’s what’s happening in September.

Learn and Network in New York City

We are bringing a mini Summit experience to The Harvard Club of New York City and we want you to join us on September 12. We have a packed agenda with procurement industry stars whose sessions will help you solve your biggest challenges. You will have the opportunity to hear from CPOs, sourcing executives and senior executives while you learn and network alongside peers from these companies: Amtrak, Avis Budget Group, Bacardi, College Board, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Guggenheim Partners, HBO, Macy's, Morgan Lewis, National Basketball Association, Novo Nordisk, Panasonic, Under Armour and many more.

Keynotes Announced for SIG Fall Global Executive Summit

Conference season is kicking into high gear and the agenda is filling out for the SIG Fall Global Executive Summit, October 14-16, in Carlsbad, California. The Summit keynotes represent some of the preeminent thought leaders in the sourcing and procurement space. SIG Summits aren’t your average industry networking event. First of all, SIG Summits are fun! You can engage with a range of people – from executives on down the line – in one of over 30 breakout sessions, over a great meal, during ice cream socials and snack breaks, or at a cocktail reception, and you don’t have to worry about overt sales pitches (we don’t allow it).

Innovation is the central theme of this Summit and will feature the second-annual Future of Sourcing Awards to honor industry innovators, leaders and rising talent. SIG events are included in the price of your company’s membership. Check out the agenda, keynote speakers and share with your team to plan your trip. Keep in mind that the hotel discount expires on September 10.

Big Ideas Event in Chicago

SIG CEO and President Dawn Tiura will be at the Big Ideas Summit in Chicago, hosted by Procurious, on September 18. At this CPO-only event, Dawn will take part in a panel discussion with leading procurement and supply chain head hunters and also present on emerging procurement practices in third party risk management.

If you’re a CPO and will also be there, connect with her on LinkedIn or follow her on Twitter.
