The Categorical Imperative: Advancing Strategic Partnerships Through a Category Management Framework

Date :September 14, 2017
Presented By:
GEP

This webinar will talk about the category management framework in a ‘mature procurement’ scenario – where the procurement team is not just a tactical support, but a strategic partner to the business. Based on a better understanding of the business’s needs, the procurement team needs to focus on developing category strategies (as opposed to sourcing strategies) that will use multiple levers to drive value for the business.

Included topics of discussion:

  • Developing a category operating model to drive a more strategic approach to category management
  • Partnering with the business to develop a category strategy aligned with business requirements
  • Avoiding the ‘cost-reduction trap’: Using innovative levers to generate value
