Jean Smarto leads the Professional Services Team for BNY Mellon’s Global Procurement organization. Jean and her team leverage their strategic sourcing expertise to secure services within the following categories:  management consulting, IT consulting, audit, legal, marketing & advertising, contingent labor and human resources. She has won the “Living the Values Award” for demonstrating her client focus, integrity, teamwork and delivering excellence in her role at BNY Mellon.

Jean is a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) with an MBA and experience in many diverse business environments:  financial services, education, commercial (Fortune 500 and small business) and defense.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2009, she was the Associate Director of Procurement Services at Carnegie Mellon University.  During her tenure at Carnegie Mellon, Jean led the training program for over 1,400 buyers in the University’s decentralized purchasing environment.  Prior, she was the Procurement Manager and member of the leadership team for Bausch & Lomb’s RAY-BAN manufacturing facility, which won the U.S. Senate Productivity Award.

Jean serves on BNY Mellon’s Pittsburgh Operating Committee and on the Board of “Off the Floor”, a non-profit with a mission to support families in need.  She is a member BNY Mellon Women’s Initiatives Network and allocates time to help both the Greater Allegheny and Westmoreland County Food Banks.

L. Jon Grogan has been with Strategic Sourcing at PNC Bank since 2010, and he currently serves as Category Manager and Team Lead for Realty Services. Prior to PNC, Jon worked for Evergreen Packaging in Memphis; Ariba and FreeMarkets in Pittsburgh; and The ServiceMaster Company in Chicago.  In addition to his business experience, Jon served in the U.S. Marine Corps for twenty-one years.  Jon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Tufts University, a Master of Arts degree in American History from the University of San Diego, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in American History from Loyola University in Chicago.

Elijah specializes in training, adult higher education, consultative selling, leadership and technology sales.

Prior to joining SIG, Elijah worked with University of Phoenix, Apollo Education Group, Adayana Business Services, PayJunction and Vital Medical Solutions; serving in leadership, consulting and business development functions. Elijah's business-to-business experience has enabled him to work with many of the world's most innovative and well-known brands. Companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, MUFG Union Bank, ADP, Delta Faucet Company and many more.

Elijah is certified in Ken Blanchard’s “Situational Leadership,” Outsell Consulting’s “Silver Bullet Selling,” University of Phoenix’s “Leadership Development Program” and is a graduate of Apollo Group’s “Innovators Accelerator.” Elijah also holds an MBA from University of Phoenix and currently serves as President of the Noblesville Midday Rotary Club in Noblesville, Indiana.
