Sourcing Industry Group (SIG) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its website. SIG assures its members and visitors to its website(s) that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, SIG has implemented the following policy.
What Information Does SIG Collect?
Most data SIG collects is used only to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by email or a special announcement placed on the website.
From General Users. SIG does not collect any personal information from users browsing its website. Only aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page -- are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.
From SIG's Members, Summit Registrants and Other Delegates. To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on sig.org, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. SIG asks users to provide their name, organization name, phone, email and other contact information. Similar information may be submitted to SIG through membership applications, Summit, Symposium, Regional Roundtable, Webinar or Town Hall Teleconference registration, publication orders, subscriptions and contest registrations. Additionally, for some emails sent in HTML format by SIG to its members through its database, email blasts and electronic newsletters, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email. For those emails, SIG will monitor whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: email address of a user, the date and time of the user's "click," a message number, name of the list from which the message was sent, tracking URL number and destination page. SIG uses this information to enhance its services and distribution of those services to its members. This information is not sold or distributed in any other manner.
How Does SIG Use Data Collected?
SIG uses information voluntarily submitted by members and other delegates in the following ways:
SIG Member Services and Products. Generally, SIG and its direct affiliates, including SIG University and mobile applications built for SIG, use data collected to improve its own web and mobile content; to respond to visitors' interests, needs and preferences; and to develop new products and services.
Disclosures to Third Parties. SIG also makes limited contact information available to those delegates who register for networking events and to select event sponsors. This limited data includes names, job titles, company names and in some cases, email addresses. Provider recipients of attendee lists must sign a Provider Code of Conduct that prohibits the use of these lists to distribute any commercial information. Members or other delegates may request that SIG refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties on the membership application form, event registration form or any other form on which they are providing information; an opt-out box will appear on each form on which a member or other delegate provides information. Alternatively, users may contact SIG at email@example.com to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have the information shared.
Consent to Use Personal Information. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act(s) 1984 and 1998 (as applicable), SIG must store, host and otherwise process the information (including personal data) supplied by the member or delegate when registering for this website. SIG may send such data outside the European Economic Area for processing. If you reside in the European Union, please be aware that by registering for and/or attending a SIG event, you are by default indicating your consent that the personal information you have provided may be transferred and stored in countries outside of the EU, including the United States. Member and or other delegate agrees as defined above when registering for the website in order to allow SIG (or its designated agents) to use the information to send unsolicited direct mail advertisements, promotions and/or email campaigns or to make phone calls to member or other delegate.
Credit Card Account Information. SIG does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, SIG submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.

What Means Of Redress Are Available?
We will take commercially reasonable measures to secure and store your Information to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the Information under our control. We utilize industry-standard security measures when accepting your credit card Information during your registration or other transaction you have initiated with us, as well as whenever we ask you to log in to any of our sites.
