Wilson joined Select Medical in 2012 to lead the organization’s Procurement Transformation Initiative. His goal was to develop a center-led Supply Chain group, focusing on the development of a comprehensive Source-to-Pay program, with the directive to create two primary work-streams. The first being a focus on Strategic Sourcing and savings realization through competitive bidding and contracting, and the second being the design, development, and implementation of a technology platform that would enable the acquisition of goods and services across the enterprise, that would ultimately address “pain points” for internal and external users, allow for strong formulary compliance, and ultimately assist in delivering excellent patient outcomes.
Ken has two degrees, one in Computer Information Systems and one in Accounting. Prior to joining Select Medical, Ken started his career in Accounting and Auditing, working for a major healthcare system and one of the Big 4 Accounting firms. He then moved into the Health Insurance industry with a focus on financial analysis and product profitability, development of enterprise data warehouses, and eventually served as a leader in the selection and implementation of an eProcurement software vendor and tool. Ken has also spent time in his own consulting company, focusing on operational and financial improvement, negotiations and contracting, and also Procurement Best Practices and Transformation.
